The Mabouias are inspired by the West African lizard species of the same name. Isak first encountered them in the Ivory Coast and later found microscope images of the scales on their feet — which became the reference for the biomimetic sole design. Built as a high-top from the start, the Mabouias reflect Isak’s love for bold, structured silhouettes that carry weight both visually and culturally.
